Volunteer with Us!

Sustainable Milton is a completely volunteer-driven organization. We have big objectives for 2024, but we need your participation to make them a reality! More than anything, we need your time, expertise, and enthusiasm. Here are just a few ways we could use your help:

  • Help with events such as the Green Homes Fair or an Electric Vehicle Fair
  • Share a testimonial about how you’ve taken action to sustain our environment for Sustainable Milton’s newsletter, the Milton Times, or our website
  • Offer your advice to Milton Neighbors working on home energy projects such as solar panels, heat pumps, and insulation.
  • Develop visual or video content to help get our message out in the community
  • Teach children how to compost in our composting pilot program in the schools'
  • Greet neighbors at Sustainable Milton’s booth at Milton Farmers market and other community events
  • Join a working group engaging the town on the development of a Climate Action and Resilience Plan
  • Help us improve our digital outreach campaigns with your marketing expertise

Follow the Climate Action Planning Committee

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report found that climate change is unequivocally caused by human activities, primarily through greenhouse gas emissions. Climate change threatens human well-being and planetary health and there is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all. The Town of Milton is actively working to develop a Climate Action Plan (CAP) to mitigate the emissions that we produce and strengthen our capacity to adapt to the effects of climate change on our community. In 2023, the Select Board approved the formation of the Climate Action Planning Committee . The Committee started meeting in June 2023 and has been charged to review and evaluate Town bylaws, regulations, and policies and recommend strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate climate risks, and expand energy efficiency opportunities for the Town to develop our Climate Action Plan.
